Paul Schillinger

SIDNEY, MONTANA: Paul Edward Schillinger, age 17, of Circle, Montana, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2010 near Sidney. Visitation and sharing will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Circle High School Gym. A celebration of Paul’s life and that of his forever buddy, Brock Loudon, is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 29, 2010 in the Circle High School Gym, where the two of them spent hundreds of hours since they were little boys. They always strived to be champions and champions they were. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements. Paul, born May 21, 1993, was received into the arms of his Lord and Savior on July 25, 2010, as a result of a tragic pickup wreck in the company of his lifelong friend, Brock Loudon. His parents, Carol and Jerry Schillinger, and big brothers, Brett and Alex, and a large extended family and friends, experienced great joy and amazement as they watched Paul blossom for seventeen years. His death will leave a tremendous void for his family, friends, the community of Circle, Montana and beyond. Watching Paul grow and mature was a never ending marvel. His inquiring mind astonished everyone. One of his cousins pronounced that she was sure he would be President of the United States. In fact, he and buddy, Tyler, were going to run as a team. For years he showed a keen interest in gems and all that glittered. When he visited Washington, D.C., he was so excited to view the Hope Diamond. It seemed that overnight he transformed himself from the plump little Paul to a strapping, handsome young man dedicated to his health and building his body in order to accomplish his athletic goals. He threw himself totally and enthusiastically into everything he did. No matter what phase he was in, one constant was his contagious, friendly, vibrant and playful personality. Outgoing and with a great sense of humor, famous for his winning smile, he literally was interested in everything and everyone. Paul was a credit to his family, his school and his community. Paul was especially proud of his family and farm heritage. He was excited about the coming crop that, just like him, had so much potential. He wanted to live on or near the Vida farm some day. Paul relished the time he spent with his brothers and his dad, hunting everything that moved. He was engaged in the family farm operation and loved to fix things. Likewise, he was equally comfortable and accomplished in the kitchen where he and Mom whipped up delectable treats. Paul’s accomplishments were a testament to the close, loving relationship he enjoyed with Mom and Dad and Brett and Alex. Family was huge to Paul. Paul will forever be missed by his parents, Jerry and Carol, his brothers Brett (Haley) and Alex; grandmothers, Anna Schillinger and Adalia Kenck; aunts and uncles, Kathleen (Jim) McGowan, Joyce Schillinger, Elaine (Perry) Eidum, Annette (Scott) Pierce, LaVern Schillinger (Connie Bryce), Leanne Schillinger (Dave Stewart), Steve (Tamah) Kenck, Harry (Sherri) Kenck, Clancy Kenck, Don (Cindy) Kenck and extended family, Marsha (Bruno) Friia, and MaryAnn Corrs. Paul’s cousins recognized him as the special one. They are Erin McGowan Fincham, Brian McGowan (who counted Paul as his little brother), Kelly McGowan, Charlie Amundson and Margaret Kecskes, Parker and Fletcher Eidum, Kennedy and Cassidy Pierce, Kate, Will and Maggie Schillinger, Dan, Charis, and Christopher Kenck, Josh, Zach, and Gina Cors, Brittni and Karli Friia, and Rachael Kenck and extended family. Paul was preceded in death by twin sisters, Faith and Hope, and grandfathers, Kenneth Schillinger and Elmer Kenck.
