Ellen Anne Robinson

Ellen Anne Robinson, 85, of Richey, Montana, was lifted up to the Lord and her forever valentine peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Billings Clinic Hospital in Billings, Montana with her family and Fr. Leo McDowell at her side. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Thursday, February 19, 2026 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Richey, MT. Rosary will follow at 7pm. Funeral Service will be held at 11am Friday, February 20, 2026 at the Richey Senior Center, with visitation one hour prior to service. Rite of Committal will follow at the Richey Cemetery. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive, MT has been entrusted with arrangements. Ellen was born on July 15, 1940 as a miracle baby to Fred and Frances Phillips of Livingston, MT. Throughout her life, she continued to be nothing short of a miracle. In her adolescence years, she participated in FHA, cheerleading, chorus, FTA, and junior and senior plays. She married the love of her life, Philip Robinson Jr. on November 26, 1958. A few short years later, the two of them made their home and family in Richey, MT. Their home was a sanctuary of warmth rooted in a small community of good people, great compassion, and endless support. Richey is often thought to be the middle of nowhere, but it was the center of her world, a safe haven that supported her through every stage of life up until her final breath. Ellen was known affectionately as the “Sports Grandma” to her children, grandchildren and their teammates. Ellen never missed an event. Whether it was sitting in the bleachers, enduring frigid Friday night lights, blazing hot track meets, or more recently from the comfort of her own home, she was always there cheering louder than anyone (especially when her beloved Seahawks won the Superbowl) and offering her unconditional love and support. Her hands were rarely still – whether she was crafting, sewing, or crocheting as many fondly remember, creating personalized treasures for every special occasion. She had a unique talent for transforming simple materials into cherished keepsakes, ensuring that her love was stitched into the lives of her children and grandchildren. Ellen was notorious for her “grandma camp” summers, her infectious laugh, and her ability to make every grandchild feel like they were her favorite. Every long car ride or phone call was filled with life advice that you didn’t know you needed. Ellen was also known for being a “tough cookie” with a gentle soul. She dedicated her life to serving God and blessing others. Her garden was an extension of her worship. Where she found God in every bloom and grew food to nourish her loved ones. Whether she was planting seeds, weeding her flowerbeds, or sharing a meal around her table, Ellen taught her children and grandchildren the importance of nurturing growth, both in the soil and in the spirit. To know Ellen was to love her and her impression stamped on the hearts of others will make a positive impact for years to come. Ellen is survived by her children Roberta Robinson of Warren, MI; Rob and Kathy Robinson (Michael, Amy, and Brett) of Joliet, MT, Andy and Lana Robinson (Christopher, Netanya, and Nicole) of Las Vegas, NV; Lenny Robinson (Philip and Shondel) of Livingston, MT; Tim and JJ Robinson (Scotti and Skyler) of Baker, MT, Sue and Casey Veroye (Ann and Joe) of Glendive, MT, along with many cherished great grandchildren and extended family members, all who were her absolute pride and joy. It goes without saying that in a community like Richey, that she is also survived by many friends who were instrumental in her life, especially the Vern and Jan Brost family. She is preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, and her four siblings. She will be missed dearly, not just her family by the entire community she touched with her kindness. The entire Robinson family wants to express our deepest gratitude for the love and support shown to Ellen throughout her life in Richey, MT. Small town big family rings true. We are forever grateful for all of the community members who showed up in ways we never thought possible. Your generous support, acts of kindness, delicious meals, and genuine connection was truly what got her through these last few years. It is because of you that her dreams and wishes came true.
