GLENDIVE, MONTANA: Thomas D. "Tom" Boje, 72, passed away at his home on Friday, May 15, 2009. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a family and friends service beginning at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at the chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Glendive with Tom's niece Clarice Beery LPA officiating. Funeral services with Military honors will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Glendive with Pastor James Hageman officiating. Private family interment will be held at a later date in the Dawson County cemetery in Glendive. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements. Thomas D. Boje was born on May 30, 1936 the son of Gustave and Edna (Goddard) Boje in Glendive. He was raised and received his early education in Bloomfield, Montana and later attended Dawson County High School with the class of 1954. After high school Tom stayed on the family farm until he opened his own radio and television supply and service store. He then went on to be a salesman at Urbanec Motors. It was during his employment there that he married June Skogas on April 13, 1958 in Glendive. He went on to work at Tomalino's Radio and TV, Kampschror's, and Al's Auto Sales before owning and operating Alken Motors until 1984 and later retiring from HKT Motors in 2005. Tom was the most loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. His four daughters thought of him as their teddy bear who was always there for them. He still managed to stay patient and kind even though there were five women in the house and one bathroom. He dearly loved his daughters and enjoyed bringing them unique modes of transportation that he took in on trade. Tom's grandchildren were his pride and joy. His grandkids will always have their precious memories of special times with grandpa. Tom believed in his country and was honored to show his patriotism. He was proud of his service in the Army reserves and received an honorable discharge in 1965. Tom was always on the go and kept busy. When he wasn't spending time with his family, he was selling and renting cars, driving beet trucks and mowing lawns. He kept the busiest completing his daughters' to-do lists and building Kelli's houses. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating with the family at the lake or reminiscing at the family farm. Tom could overhaul an engine and bake buns in the same breath. He was a jack of all trades. Tom enjoyed woodworking, hunting, late night card parties, traveling and especially dancing with Junie. Tom and his family enjoyed many memorable vacations that took them everywhere from Switzerland and London to Hawaii and Florida. He will always be rememberd as the fix-it man with a heart of gold. We will love and miss you Big Tom. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife June of Glendive; four daughters, Jacky Boje and her son Kale Boje both of Glendive, Vonda Boje of Little Falls, Minnesota, LaRae Dowson (Brian) and their children Jayla, Dylan and Logan all of Glendive, Kelli Alexander (Joe) and their children Cassidy and Carson Thomas all of Grand Rapids, Minnesota; one sister Lillian Knudson of Richey, Montana; one brother Floyd Boje (Pat) of Glendive; numerous nieces and nephews.
