Fay Eileen Bryhn

Fay Eileen (Pfau) Bryhn went to be with our Lord on December 20, 2023 at Holy Rosary Residential Living in Miles City, MT peacefully in her sleep. A Vigil service will be at 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glendive with Father Francis Schreiber officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in the Dawson Memorial Cemetery in Glendive. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements. Fay was born January 24, 1951 to Anton and Mary Pfau in Sidney, MT. She was the youngest of six children. Fay attended grade school at Anderson Country School as well as Newlon Country School in Sidney. She graduated in 1969 from Sidney High School. Fay worked at the M & M Cafe after graduation for a time, as well as helping her folks at their place outside of Sidney. On December 31, 1972, her Uncle Pete and Aunt Jean Pfau took her to Glendive for a Night Owl Square Dance. That is where she met the love of her life, George. They dated a short time and she agreed to tie the knot. Happily, on May 19, 1973 George and Fay were married in Sidney. George and Fay lived in Lindsay, MT at the Bryhn's family farm after they got married. During the winter of 1978, on Valentines Day, they got the call a little baby girl was ready to find her forever home with them. They drove through a snow storm to go to Helena, MT to get her. They were now the proud parents of Tiena Marie. In 1983, Fay, George and Tiena moved to the other side of Lindsay, when George went to work for Eaton and Sons. During this time, Fay was involved with Garden Club, Homemakers' Club and Vacation Bible School at the Union Hall. She loved making lefsa, planting her garden, and making pies. She was also involved with CCD in Terry, MT at the Sacred Heart Church. Fay worked at the Kempton Hotel in Terry while Tiena attended school. She really enjoyed working there. In 1997, a baby boy was born, Dylan, and George and Fay became grandparents for the first time. Fay loved helping take care of her grandson Dylan. Shortly after Dylan was born, Fay and George moved to Glendive in 1999. Fay started working at Urbanec Motors, after moving to Glendive, which became American Ford a couple years after she started working there. Fay also worked at MDU Credit Union in Glendive, and finally at Walz Truck Repair in Beach, ND. Fay loved traveling with George and Tiena to Minnesota, Wisconsin and to Texas to visit family. She especially enjoyed blackberry picking when they went to Wisconsin. She used to bring gallon buckets full back to Montana. In 2007, Tiena got married to Jesse Kinsey, and Fay finally got another grandchild, Kaylin. A granddaughter, and she was so excited. Fay met many wonderful people living in Glendive. She would bake numerous amounts of pies with her friend, Shelly Mindt. She was very involved with Cum Christo, which she was the rectora one year. She felt honored to have that position. She met many amazing people through Sacred Heart Church in Glendive. Many of them became lifelong friends. Later on in life, Fay found diamond painting. She would spend hours working on numerous paintings, notebooks, ornaments and cards. She had quite a talent for diamond painting, and many of her pieces are displayed today. Fay adored spending time with her grandchildren and in 2016, became an adopted great grandmother to a little boy named Cadyn. That same year, Liam was born and then Oliver who came along in 2017. In 2020, her first great granddaughter, Reinie, was born, followed by little Nylah in 2021. Fay was a wonderful wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, and a great friend to all who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Mary (Rambur) Pfau of Sidney, MT and her brothers Bob Pfau (Sheridan, WY) and LeRoy Pfau (Sidney, MT). She is survived by her husband George Bryhn (Glendive, MT), her daughter Tiena (Jesse) Kinsey of Miles City, MT; grandchildren, Dylan (Lydia) Pollock of Glendive, MT, Kaylin (Cameron) DeVera of Glendive, MT; her sisters Betty Nielson of Sidney, MT, Jenny (Bud) Norby of Fairview, MT, and Mary Meyers of Big Lake, MN.
