Linda Jean Frank

On January 22, 2024 Linda Jean (Thomson) Frank, age 75, received her wings and went to walk with the angels. She went peacefully in the arms of her Savior, surrounded by her children and sister Donna at her home. Her dignified and courageous battle against cancer and illness was testimony of her strength to all. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church in Glendive with dear friend and Pastor Avis Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Dawson Memorial Cemetery in Glendive. Cremation has taken place and Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is entrusted with arrangements. Our very special Valentine, Linda, was born February 14, 1948 in Glendive, daughter of Alexander "Scotty" and Lillian (Skogas) Thomson. She was raised and educated in Glendive, graduating from Dawson County High School with the class of 1966. Linda married the love of her life, Earl Frank on November 22, 1967 at Zion Lutheran Church in Glendive and resided there where they made their home. They had a one-year residency in Denver, Colorado from November 1968 until December 1969 while Earl completed his accounting degree. Linda worked at Brenner Drug and First Security Bank in Glendive and Silver State Savings Bank in Denver. To their union, they welcomed daughter, Amy in 1971 and son, Aaron in 1973. In 1981 Earl and Linda fulfilled their dream, becoming self-employed and establishing Frank Accounting & Tax Service. After Earl's passing in 2007, Linda continued the family business with her son until her partial retirement and closing of business on December 31, 2014. She continued to work for H & R Block through spring 2015 and then worked at the Boys & Girls Club in Glendive for the Summer Program in 2015 until she fully retired. Linda’s family was the light of her life. She cared deeply for her family and friends. She was a wonderful cook and host to many family and friend gatherings and was willing to help out and support others in need often sacrificing her own rest to make sure things got done. Linda enjoyed quilting and gifted many quilts to family members. Family trips to Texas to spend time with her sister Donna and family were very special to her. She held very special bonds with her children Amy and Aaron which carried over to her grandchildren. Her time spent on adventures with Liz, Alex and Katy filled with Elvis, trips, sleepovers, face-time and phone calls nurtured her heart. Linda's nieces and nephews adored her often referring to her as their second mom. Linda was "mom" and “grandma” to some very special people; Fritz and Pat Deines, Darrin Schlenz, Lindsay (Jones) Adamson, Melissa Larsen, Kyana and Charlee Casey, and the Rob & Mechelle Kuehn family, all whom she loved dearly and shared very special memories. Linda was active in her faith and serving at Zion Lutheran Church, was a Blue Bird Leader with Amy, an avid Bonko member and a community supporter. Throughout her life she made and retained strong friendships, some from childhood and others she met along her journey in life. She shared many memories, laughs, tears and bonds of friendship with Avis Anderson, Connie Beuselink, Deb Klempel, Jean Ballentine, Cheryl Silletto, and Barb Bollwitt. Linda remained very close to her sister, Donna Raden; cousin, Vonnie Robson; and her soul sister, Nadine Hoff. Though Linda's health was failing these last years, few people knew the extent to which she struggled. Her joy for life, for her family and friends kept pushing her through the pain. She regularly posted positive and heartfelt sentiment wishes for others on facebook, mostly including cute cat pictures and sunflowers. Linda has reunited with her loved ones who preceded her in death; her loving husband Earl; her parents Alexander and Lillian Thomson; her brothers Robert Storlie, Melvin Storlie and Jerry Thomson; her sisters Grace (Storlie) Cress and Jeannie (Thomson) Johnson; in-laws Hertha and Phillip Frank; brothers-in-law Kenneth Cress, Don Johnson and Alan Nelson; sisters-in-law Gloria Nelson and Gladys Waters; nieces Cindy (Storlie) LaDuke, Nancy (Cress) Skalsky, Vickie Nelson and Sherri (Frank) Paulson; nephews Gregg Storlie and Todd Nelson. Blessed to carry on her memory, Linda is survived by her daughter, Amy (Frank) Casini and fiancé James Smith of Billings; son, Aaron Frank and wife Paula of Glendive, MT; granddaughters, Elizabeth, Alexandria, and Kaitlyn Casini all of Billings, MT; Misty (Casini) Angell and husband Mark of Billings, MT; grandsons, Justin and Jacob Frank of Glendive, MT; great-grandchildren, Charisma, Stella and Meadow Angell of Billings, MT; sister, Donna (Thomson) Raden and husband Dennis of Marble Falls, TX; sisters-in-law, Doris Storlie of Billings, MT and Mae Storlie of Glendive, MT; brother-in-law, Jim Frank and wife Wanda of Sidney, MT; numerous beloved nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends, and loving cat companions, Thelma & Louise. Some special people only walk this earth for what feels to be a short time, Linda blessed us with 75 years and her departure reminds us of a very special angel we have watching over us from above.
