Tarzan Zane Wood

Tarzan Zane “TZ” Wood passed away at his home in Billings, MT Feb 26, 2022 at the age of 87 years. Private graveside services will be held at Sunnyside Cemetery in Trotters, North Dakota. Silha Funeral Home of Beach, North Dakota has been entrusted with the arrangements. Zane was born on April 2, 1934, to Johnny and Ann Wood in Wibaux Montana. They took their bouncing baby boy to be weighed at the bank, where he came in at over ten pounds. Dad was raised on the family farm/ranch north of Wibaux, which he loved. On November 20, 1954, he married Darlene Jewett and to this union, five children were born. Dad was a good steward of his ranch land, keeping up his fences and making sure his pasture was never overgrazed. Proud owner of the 10 Quarter Circle Brand. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and flying his airplanes. TZ was known as the “Montana Cowboy” to his CB buddies and enjoyed hosting summer get togethers for club members. TZ was preceded in death by his Father Johnny, Mother Ann, Brother Johnny, Sister Joyce, and Grandson Shawn VanVleet. He is survived by his only living sibling, Barbara Wood of * Oregon; his children Cathy (Wade) Austby of Wibaux, Julie (Todd) Austby Wibaux, Trisha (Jim) Boorman Green aces, WA, Molly (Luver) Pehl Terry, Mt, and Zane (Cindy) Wood Dillon, Mt. Grandchildren: Mindy VanVleet of Wibaux, Naomi (Steve) Grove of Wibaux, Alissa (Tracy) Welch Laurel, Amanda Field of Billings, Jobeth (Sam) McKoon Greenacres Wa, Maggi (Justin) Miller Bar Nunn WY, Leslee Kinsey Billings, Teri Ramirez Fallon, MT, Shayla Wood Dillon, and Kyra Wood Billings MT; Great grandkids Vanesa VanVleet and her fiancée Kyle Graham, Zayda Grove, Jayley Welch, Amya Welch, Cheryl Grigsby, Jewelia Grigsby, Jase Grigsby, Tristan Field, Piper McKoon, Dane McKoon, Tayson Miller, Hadley Deluna, Zayden Miller, Erik Miller, Beckham Kinsey, Breyer Kinsey, Baise Kinsey, Adrian Ramirez, Brayden Ramirez, Rosslyn Ramirez, Kaysen Ramirez, Ellis Ramirez, Oakley Moore and soon to arrive Great great Grandson Isaac; special friend Virginia Royal.
