Marjorie Kay Farstveet Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marjorie Kay Farstveet, age 91 of Beach, North Dakota passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 at the Wibaux County Nursing Home in Wibaux, Montana. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, February 4, 2022 at First Lutheran Church in Beach with Pastor Dieterle officiating. Silha Funeral Home of Beach has been entrusted with the arrangements. Marge was born on November 20, 1930 in Bismarck, North Dakota to parents, Harry and Hazel (Sperry) Halstead. She was raised and educated in Beach, attending the Seventh Day Adventist School, and later attending the Seventh Day Adventist High School; graduating in Harvey, North Dakota. Marge attended one year of college in Oregon, moving back to Beach to work for the ASCS Office. Marge met Alvin Farstveet in a traffic accident and the rest was history. They were married on December 28, 1950 in Beach and to this union one daughter, Kay was born. The family moved to Bowman, North Dakota in 1954, and lived there until 1975 when they moved back to Beach. Marge worked as a bookkeeper for ten years at Farmer’s Union Oil in Bowman and when they moved back to Beach, she kept busy taking care of the house and everything else a farm wife does. Marge served on the Board of the Golden Valley Manor and the North Dakota State Water Commission Board. Marge dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She liked gardening, feeding the birds and feeding peanuts to the squirrels, family visits, coffee with the ladies and was an avid dominoes player with her special dominoes friends. Marge is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; her parents, Harry and Hazel; her brothers and sisters, Gladys Larson (Francis), Richard Halstead (Bertha) and Harold Halstead; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Eleanore Ward (Vern), Keith Farstveet (Myrna), Ellef Farstveet, Knute Farstveet Jr., Marge Mosser (Dick) and Cherie Farstveet . Marge is survived by her daughter, Kay Fisher (Bart) of Scranton, North Dakota; her grandchildren, Alex Fisher (Emily) of Rapid City, South Dakota and their children, Reagan, Paxton, and Nora; Wade Fisher ( Thu) of East Lansing, Michigan and their children, Gavin and Bryce; and Andy Fisher (Ashley) of Scranton, North Dakota and their children, Aidyn, Tatem, Morgen and Lily; her sister-in-law, Marie Halstead and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Gary Farstveet (Marge), Rex Farstveet (Myrna), Craig Farstveet, Sharon Dietz and close friend, Lyn Gustin.
