Allen and her mom moved to Glendive in November 1971 to Forest Park next to the best neighbors, the Devoy's. Walt was her fixing man until he died. Joyce was always a great helper and Doug took care of her lawn, shoveled snow, and took care of her car. Freda was active in the Zion Lutheran Church in Glendive and was on the church council. She was also involved with Hannah Circle, Chancel Guild, took care of the church flowers for twenty-nine years, a member of the Hospital Auxiliary Attic , and also worked at the Gift Shop. Sister Lydia and she volunteered a lot for the Hospital Auxiliary and enjoyed it. Allen LeRoy Haidle passed away on February 25, 1982 in Billings, Montana from a cerebral hemorrhage. She had a large garden in Glendive and made lots of dill and beet pickles for Lutefisk supper and would make lots of jellies and jams to give away. She entered more than eighty exhibits (canned and bake goods) to the Dawson and Prairie County fairs for many years and had won lots of awards and ribbons.
