Dorothy Kathryn Bushman

Dorothy K. Bushman, age 96, of Wibaux, Montana passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the Wibaux County Nursing Home in Wibaux. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, February 28, 2020 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Wibaux. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Father Xavier Arimboor officiating. Silha Funeral Home of Wibaux has been entrusted with the arrangements. Dorothy was born on January 1, 1924 in Kalispell, Montana to Nicholas and Beaulah (Trollope) Morgen. She moved with her family as a young child to Wibaux. Dorothy was raised and educated in Wibaux and graduated with the class of 1941. She attended the College of Education in Great Falls, Montana and later Billings Business College in Billings, Montana, MSU Billings Eastern. Dorothy then taught school for five years. Dorothy was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Bushman on March 6, 1945 in Wibaux before he was sent overseas during WWII. When Dick returned, they lived in Wibaux and owned and operated the Super Value grocery store for over three decades .Dorothy also did income tax for twenty-four years, was Deputy Clerk and Recorder for Wibaux County for two years and Deputy Assessor for the state of Montana for ten years as well as a bookkeeper for several business’ until Dorothy retired in the late eighty’s. During her retirement, she enjoyed taking care of and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to read, garden and followed politics in her younger years. Dorothy attended daily Mass and was very strong in her Catholic faith. She was a member of St. Peter’s Alter Society, the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Homemakers Club. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; an infant son; Richard and three sisters, Irene Oswood, Sharon Held and Arnetta Marciniak. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Linda (Larry) Gaalswyk of Billings and Kathryn (Lew) Anderson of Billings; her son, Robert (Judy) Bushman of Wibaux; her sisters, Evelyn Zook of Bismarck, North Dakota, Teresa Cristafulli of Wibaux, Vivian Bruski of Billings and Marlene (Leo) Stoltz of Kalispell; her ten grandchildren; her fifteen great grandchildren; a step grandson and a step grandchild as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
